What is hi-c red?

Hi-C Red is a fluorescent dye that is commonly used in Hi-C experiments to label DNA segments and visualize the spatial organization of chromosomes in the nucleus. It is a part of the Hi-C protocol that involves cross-linking, digestion, ligation, and fragmentation of chromatin, followed by labeling of the DNA fragments with fluorescent dyes such as Hi-C Red. Hi-C Red is excited at a wavelength of 561 nm and emits light at around 617 nm. It has excellent photostability and is highly specific to DNA, making it an ideal probe for studying chromatin structure and dynamics.
